A treat!

I got a real treat this week. It turns out that a mom took her daughters back to China (I think they are around 10) and as part of the trip they went back to the Ningdu Social Welfare Institute, which is the orphanage where Laine is. When they returned they posted the pictures for all families of children from the Ningdu SWI and the exciting part is that there are pictures of little Laine! It is such a treat to have pictures since typically I wouldn't have gotten any pictures other than the referral pictures. The pictures are from November, so Laine is about 9 months old. I hope that you enjoy them as much as I am!

Travel!

We have bought our plane tickets! My mom and I leave Feb. 13 for Beijing and we meet Laine on Feb. 17. I'm really excited, I can't believe that it is only 5 weeks away. I'll keep you posted on any new info, hopefully I will have updated height and weight info in the next couple of weeks.

Its here! Its really here, the referral is here! I have finally been able to see the beautiful face of my little girl (I’ve taken a poll, everyone agrees!). She was born on March 15, 2007 and lives in an orphanage in Ningdu, Jiangxi, China. I don’t know a lot about her yet, I’m waiting for the English translation of the paper work which will give me some more info.

As for the next steps, I need to send some paperwork back to China and then back to the waiting (but much shorter this time) for the travel approval. My best guess is that my mom and I will travel to meet Laine in mid-February. In the mean time, I have a lot to get ready!

In the midst of everything else, I decided that this was the perfect time to redo my kitchen, so my house is in shambles, because why not have everything happen at once. I will continue to post updates between now and February and then pictures as she is growing up.
